Why are our charm beads so special? For starters they are all handmade and unique. They are designer jewelry of which no one is the same as the other.
Lisencka considers it very important to make only one of each of her designs. However, we make an exception for the charm beads for the charity of Alzheimer’s Netherlands and the association against breast cancer, because these charm beads were created for this very purpose. But still, each bead is handmade and although they are very similar, there are (sometimes small) differences to be discovered. But this is precisely what makes the handwork so beautiful and unique.
Lisencka has always been a little different from “the masses. She likes to adjust her clothes just a little bit so that they look a little different from the rest, and so it is with everything. Her maxim is that every living being is unique and special and that the person is allowed to act that way. Lisencka admires people who stand out from the crowd and stand out from the crowd.
Lisencka is extremely creative and designs and makes each charmbead by hand. She begins by creating a design, usually the ideas for new designs come early in the morning (upon waking) or late at night (just before falling asleep) therefore on her bedside table there is always a notepad with pencil to sketch out her ideas right away.
Once the idea is on paper she starts working on the final design. So some is added, or some is taken away. The surface area of a charm bead is relatively small so that is an important point to consider in the design.
Once Lisencka is satisfied with the design she goes to work creating the charmbead. Sometimes this takes several days, sometimes it is faster.
Then the charmbead is hung at her workplace for a while. Lisencka does this so that she involuntarily looks at it regularly. Only when she is completely satisfied is the charmbead cast in epoxy resin.
